The Program in brief

This course is designed to familiarize individuals with online technologies. The emphasis is on Internet journalism technologies, particularly “Blogging”, with some focus on the writing and visual skills needed to effectively publish content for Caribbean audiences. The course will orientate and provide instruction to participants on multimedia reporting techniques and the strategies used to make online information practical for various audiences. The course will be using “blogging” as tool for publishing content on the Internet.

Students who complete the course will receive a certificate in Online Journalism from the initiative partners. The certificate is aimed at interested and appropriate people in media. This includes traditional media such as print, television and radio journalist, editors and personnel. It is designed to improve the knowledge, skills and capabilities of media professionals in the region.

The course will be delivered online. The course does require participants to have any post-secondary or higher education qualification, however interested persons should be currently working in the media and have at least two years of professional experience in the field.
